Plymouth North Athletic Booster Club By-Laws

Article 1

Name:  The name of the organization shall be Plymouth North Athletic Booster Club

Article II

Purpose:  The purpose of the organization shall be: 

• To encourage interest in and give support to all interscholastic athletic teams and cheerleaders at PNHS
• To promote the health and welfare of the student athletes at PNHS
• To recognize and reweard student athletes at PNHS

Article III

Membership:  Membership shall be open to all supporters of PNHS student athletes.

Article IV

Organization:  Board members, each athletic team shall have one parent representative and one alternate, each board member/ parent representative shall have one vote.

Executive Committee:  The Executive Committee shall be nominated and elected by the board of directors on an annual basis.  The Executive committee shall consist of the following:  Co-Presidents, Co-Vice -Presidents, Secretary and Treasurer

Meeting Quorum:  50% of the Board of Directors shall be required for a quorum.

Meetings:  All general meetings shall be open to the public.  Meeting minutes and treasurer's report shall be available to all members.  Meetings will be held at Plymouth North High School on a monthly basis on the second Monday of the month unless otherwise stated.

Committee Chairpersons:  The President shall appoint committee chairpersons.

Article V

Guidelsines:  The fiscal year shall be July 1 to June 30.  Spending Guidelines:  Presidents/Treasurer up to $200 per request and Executive Committee up to $750 per request.  Receipts for all payments shall be required.  All spending shall be limited to funds available.  The Executive Committee/Board of Directors shall establish a short/long range for spending based on the needs of the sports inconjunction with the Athletic Department.

Article VI

Duties:

President:  The President shall be the Executive officer of the club, shall president at all meeting of the Board, shall call special meeting as necessary, and shall be a Member Exofficio of all commitees.  The President shall appoint special commitees not otherwise provided for, shall supervise the activities and welfare of the club and keep the members of the club informed of all matters pertaining to the affairs of the club.  The President and the Treasurer shall have the authority to sign all checks on behalf of the club (see atricle V guidelines).

Vice-President:  The Vice-President shall, in the absence of the President, performs all duties and assumes all responsibilities of the President and shall be the coordinator of all commitees.

Secretary:  The secretary shall record and keep minutes of all Board Meetings and shall use notification of all meetings and perform other related duties that are assigned by the President or Executive Committee.

Treasurer:  The treasurer shall be the custdian of the funds for the club, shall receive all monies, and shall make all payments.  The Treasurer shall keep full and detailed accounts, shall present financial records at the regular meetings of the board, and shall transfer to his/her succor all books and financial records. 

Committees:  The Board shall establish various committees for the purpose of carrying out any of the objectives as stated in Article II- Purpose.  

Article VII

Other:

Amendements:  The By-Laws may be amended by a two -thirds  majority vote of the Executive Committee at a regular meeting.

Policy:  The Executive Committee shall not engage in or participate in any school/MIAA disciplinary action of Plymouth North High School.   Frequent absences  of Executive Committee Members may result in removal from office.  There shall be no term limits on the Executive Committee.  Any member or Officer may be removed from office by a majority vote of the Executive Committee, provided the member has received notice stating the cause of such action.
